• 2025.02.12Today’s Bear class

  

  Today we did fishing with our Bear friends! But they were not regular fish, they were shape fish! We caught some circle, square and triangle fish. They were all different colors! We had a lot of fun catching the fish, saying the colors and the shapes. We also helped them to return home safely in the right aquarium. After class we tried out the new uniform for the next year. Our friends look great in it! Let’s have fun again next week!

• 2025.02.10Today’s Class 1

  

  In today’s Class 1 we had so much fun! Swimming in the pool was so much fun and and we had a great time. We practiced going around the pool like crabs. We also did our best jumping through the water and going under water. We have really enjoyed practicing our swimming all year, and today we had a little bit extra time to swim around freestyle. After swimming we went back to our room to dry off. While we were drying off, we worked on a craft! We are making a fun craft for the Dolls Festival and today we got to use paint to make dots with our fingers. We also practiced writing our names in English. We have worked so hard on the alphabet and we are getting really good at writing English letters. Today was a great day in Class 1, and we can’t wait for more fun this week!

• 2025.02.0822nd English Speaking Contest

  

  The IYK children, as well as the ESC students, who participated in our 22nd Speaking Contest today all did such a great job. The children did their best to speak and converse in English about a variety of topics. They also took a listening test that tested their comprehension ability. Some children had lots of confidence while others were a little nervous, but everyone tried really hard and we saw lots of happy faces. Before going home, we handed out medals to the children with the highest scores in each level, and all of the children got presents for their great effort. Thank you to everyone who came today, and thank you to the parents for your support and encouragement. We hope the parents are proud of their child’s accomplishment, and we are already looking forward to next year’s Speaking Contest!

• 2025.02.07Today’s Elephant class

  

  It was a wonderful day for some snow play! We went to the park, where we made snowmen and snow castles. We tried sliding down the slope and had so much fun! Our Elephant friends lined up, walked one by one, and checked for cars very nicely. We got really tired, so we ate our lunch well. After lunch, we played with blocks and built tall towers. We also read some English books. Our favorites are the ones about Anna and Elsa! We can’t wait to have more fun next week!

• 2025.02.06Today’s Elephant class

  

  It was a very busy day for our Elephant friends. First, we had some snow play. It was so fun! We rode a sled, ran in the snow, made some snow bears and played together. By the time we got back to IYK we were really hungry and ate well! Today is a bento day, so our mommies cooked us some delicious lunch. After lunch we tried on our new uniform. We have grown up a lot this year and we are ready to become Juniors! All friends look amazing in it. We can’t wait to see them wearing the uniform next year!

• 2025.02.05劇団Kazenoko

  

  　今日は『劇団かぜのこ』さんによる観劇『なんだこりゃなんだのチャッチャッチャッ』を鑑賞しました。今回は、みんなの身の回りにある「おもちゃ」をテーマに、様々な「なんだこりゃ」なストーリーが沢山でてきましたよ。こぶたのぬいぐるみがインターナショナル山の手幼稚園で１日を過ごしたり、ミニカーのトラックに動物達がどんどん乗ってきたり、へびが自分のしっぽに話しかけたり、小さいお家で暮らすおばあさんがシチューをつくっていたり、大きな松ぼっくりがなんだかゾウさんのうんこに見えたり、新聞でつくった葉っぱやお友達にみんなで風を送ってくるくるまわったり・・・どれもちょっぴりおかしくてあっという間のお話ばかりで、お子さま達も大笑いして楽しんでいましたよ。最後に、登場したおもちゃやぬいぐるみにお別れをして、素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。

• 2025.02.04Today’s Class 9

  

  The Class 9 children had such a fun and active day today. We had outside play, a piano lesson, and even an English Activity. During our English Activity, the children helped warm up some friends by giving them hats, mittens and gloves. Children could go to the winter clothes shop, ask “How much is it?” and select the correct amount of play money. Other children pretended to be shopkeepers and answered the questions by saying full sentences such as, “It’s 250 yen.” We had lots of fun and the children also learned a new song. They will practice it, and look forward to singing it in front of parents during English Open Class, which is coming up soon.

• 2025.02.03豆まき

  

  年少組は3クラスが集まって豆まきをしました！「幼稚園の中に鬼が来ているみたいだよ」という、教師のお話を聞いてちょっぴり緊張しているお子さまもいましたが、みんなで大きな声で「豆まきのうた」を歌い、やってきた鬼に向けて沢山の豆を投げていました。びっくりして少し泣いてしまったお子さまもいましたが、お腹のなかにいる鬼は居なくなったようですよ。
  
  年中組と年長組は1階に集まって一緒に豆まきを行いました。はじめに『節分』についての話を聞いたり、自分の心の中にはどんな鬼がいるかの話をしました。「ぼくはおこりんぼう鬼を退治する！」「私は泣き虫鬼！」と自分の心の中にいる鬼を退治しようとやる気は満々です。年中組は自分でつくった鬼のお面をつけて、年長組は自分達でつくった鬼の豆入れを首から下げて全員でまめまきの歌を元気いっぱいうたってさらにパワーアップしたお子さま達。するとドンドンドンドン！と太鼓の音とともに鬼が現れて全員で「鬼は外！福は内！」と一生懸命豆をなげました。始めはびっくりして泣いてしまったお子さまも、鬼をやっつけようと最後まで豆を投げていましたよ。鬼が逃げていくと「やったー！」と喜び、鬼退治をしたことに達成感を感じていたお子さま達でした。

  今日の年長組は、みんなでバスに乗って農試公園へ雪遊びに行きました！お子さま達は、「今日はついに農試公園に行けるね！」「雪いっぱいあるのかな？」と待ちに待った農試公園への遠出にワクワクした様子で登園してきてくれましたよ。公園についてからは、少し雪が降っていましたが、お子さま達はいつもよりも長い丘や広い土地に大興奮！ルールをしっかりと確認した後、ついに遊ぶ時間がやってきました。米ぞりを使ってどちらが遠くまで滑れるか友達と競争したり、米ぞりを繋げて二人乗りをしたり、たくさんの新雪に埋まってみたり、思い思いの遊び方を楽しんでいました。最後に、クラスごとに一列に並び、丘の上から米ぞりで滑りました。「思ったより怖くなかった！」「みんなで滑るともっと楽しかった」「また来たい！」などと大満足のお子さま達でした。

• 2025.01.30Birthday party

  

  今日は３学期初めてのBirthday partyでした。今月は15人ものお子様が誕生日を迎えました。みんなでお誕生日のお友達に名前や年齢を聞くと、「My name is〜.」「I’m ~!」と大きな声で堂々と答えてくれましたよ。大好きなお友達にプレゼントをもらった時には、とても嬉しそうに受け取っていました。今日の先生達からのプレゼントは劇でした。みんなで楽しく“Snowman Freeze”のダンスを踊っていたら、クイズ好きのSnowmanが現れ、秘密の暗号をゲットするためにクイズに挑戦しました。お子さま達は一生懸命クイズに参加し、見事「WNSO」の文字をゲット！「順番を入れ変えたら正しい文字になること」に気づいたお子さま達はお友達と一緒に考え、「SNOW」のWordに辿り着くことができました。最後にSnowmanから雪の結晶をプレゼントしてもらい、中からはなんと「Happy Birthday」の文字が！みんなで大きな声でお祝いして、楽しい劇は終わりました。2月生まれのお子さま達、Happy Birthday！
