年長組の卒園を間近に控えた今日は、お別れパーティーを行いました。卒園式のようにBGMが流れるとかっこよく入場した年長組。担任の先生の合図できびきびと歩く姿がとても素敵でした。卒園式でもうたう歌‟Friends Forever”を年長組が披露し、年少中からは“思い出のアルバム”の歌のプレゼントをお返ししました。その後は各チームに分かれて楽しいゲームをしたり、年少中が準備したペンダントを「今までありがとう。」と気持ちを込めてプレゼントしました。そして、みんなが楽しみにしていた最後の給食Timeでは、好きな物を選んで異年齢のお友達とも交流しながら美味しく頂きました。年長組の皆さん、小学生になっても元気で頑張ってくださいね！
2025.03.12Class 4 / Bear Class
Today in Class 4, we had a super fun day packed with many activities! We really impressed our teachers by perfecting our handbell skills. We could perform the song nearly perfectly in only two tries–wow! After that we showed off our jump rope skills and then celebrated by continuing our game party. Class 4 loves to have fun and compete in challenges, so we definitely loved playing balloon volleyball! We are making sure to have as much fun together during our last days as class 4. We can’t wait to celebrate the Seniors at the Farewell Party tomorrow!
Today was the last day of Bear Class! We had our final Morning Meeting and completed our last English activity. Since we’ve been practicing shopping a lot recently, we had one final shopping experience. This time, to pick out presents for our parents! We had many beautiful flowers to choose from and selected our favorite colors. After that, we listened to farewell speeches from all our teachers and the vice-principal. We also received our Certificates of Completion and some special photos to cherish as beautiful memories of preschool. We hope to see you all again next year in Junior Class. Let’s continue learning and having fun together!
2025.03.11March’s Birthday Party / Elephant Closing Ceremony
Today was the March Birthday Party! All of the friends at IYK with birthdays in March were able to celebrate today. There was also an art awards ceremony where many IYK friends won big awards that they can take home. All of the teachers were so proud. During the Birthday Party, each grade level of friends got to stand in front of everyone in the kindergarten and say how old they were. After that, everyone sang a nice song for all of the birthday friends. Then, everyone heard something coming from the side room. Mr. Wolf showed up and put on a fun show! It was Mr. Wolf’s birthday, too, and he wanted some friends to celebrate with. Unfortunately, he kept sneezing and blowing down all of the houses of the friendly pigs, Scooby, Sally, and Wilbur, until only the brick house remained. The pigs were scared at first, because they thought Mr. Wolf would eat them, but in the end they all became friends and shared some birthday cake together. The school year’s last birthday party was so much fun! Happy birthday to our March Birthday friends!
Today was the final day for our Elephant friends! We hope this year in Preschool has been filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful memories. From the very first day, we have watched you grow, and it’s amazing to see how much you have learned and changed! You’ve made new friends, gained confidence, and become more independent in so many ways. We are so proud of you and know that you’re ready for the next step in your journey! We also want to take a moment to thank all the wonderful Mommies and Daddies for their endless support throughout the year. Thank you for bringing your little ones to Preschool, joining our events, and always being there for them. We truly appreciate you! We can’t wait to see you again next year!
2025.03.10Elephant Closing Ceremony / Class 3
It was the last day for our Elephant friends! We hope you had a wonderful time in Preschool this year and made lots of happy memories. From the very first day, we have watched you grow, and we are amazed at how much you have changed! You have made new friends, had fun learning to speak English, and become more independent in so many ways. We believe you are ready for the Junior class, and we cannot wait to see you all again next year! Today, we also took a moment to express our gratitude to all of the Mommies and Daddies who have supported our friends throughout the year. Thank you for bringing your little ones to Preschool, participating in our events, and for your continuous support. See you all next year!
Class 3 had lots of fun today. We had fun playing together during Discovery Time until everyone had arrived and put away their jackets and bags by themselves. After today’s Teacher’s Assistants had led the class in the Morning Meeting and handed out stickers for everyone, we set up the tables for lunch and headed down to the pool. Today was our last swimming lesson of the year, and everyone was able to dunk their heads under water! We had lots of fun playing and splashing. After getting changed, we went back upstairs for a yummy lunch. Everyone got their bags and jackets, and we went downstairs to play with the Intermediate and Senior late course friends until it was time to go home. Thank you for a fun day! 2025.03.07Today’s elephant class / Junior
We had a very fun day with our Elephant friends! First, we had a morning meeting. Everyone did a great job and used their nice voices today. After that, we had an English activity. We saw some very funny fish — circle fish, square fish, and even triangle fish! We helped them return home safely and danced a super fun shape dance! We couldn’t stop singing, even at lunch! We sang “Baby Shark” several times. After we finished eating and cleaned up, we played with big blocks. We built very tall towers and even made a castle! We felt a little sad to go home, but we will meet again next week for more fun!
今日の年少組はMojikazu Challengeを行いました。事前に忍くんからの手紙が届き、今日をとても楽しみにしていたお子さま達。忍くんから２つのChallengeの手紙を貰い、1つ目はたくさんの名前の中から自分の名前を書いた紙を探すというもの。たくさんのひらがなの書かれた名前の中から、真剣に自分の名前を探していました。2つ目のChallengeは〇☓ゲームでした。２つのひらがなの書かれたカードのどちらが合っているか考えて、カードの前に座ります。「ねこ」と「ぬこ」など、ちょっぴり難しい問題にも一生懸命考えながら選んでいました。そして最後には1年間たくさんの「もじやすうじ」に触れて楽しんだお子さま達に忍くんからのメダルのプレゼントを貰いました。みんなとても喜んで、それぞれのクラスで大切に受け取っていましたよ。
2025.03.06Today’s Elephant class/Intermediate
It was a very fun day in the Elephant class! We had a fish party! But the fish didn’t have any costumes, so we helped them using our English skills. First, we chose a fish to help. They were all different shapes and colors! There were circle fish, square fish, and even triangle fish! We used our shape stickers to make them look beautiful for the party. Then, we danced a fun shape dance together! The fish were so happy! We also sang a birthday song for our friends born in March and played many fun games. Next time, we will have our Graduation Ceremony. Let’s do our best and show everything we’ve learned this year!
今日の年中組は、今年度最後の文字かずChallengeを行いました。各クラスに文字かずレンジャーから手紙が届き、今日の日を楽しみにやる気満々だったお子さま達！！今回はいつもとはちがうNumber ChallengeとHiragana Challengeに挑戦しましたよ。１つ目のチャレンジは〇△☆などの様々な形のカードをひいて同じ形同士の友達で集まり、最後に何人集まっているかをグループのお子さま同士話し合い、人数を発表しました。２つ目のチャレンジは、同頭語と同尾語のゲームをしました。同じ文字で始まる絵が描かれたカードは同頭語のスペースに、最後が同じ文字で終わる絵が描かれたカードは同尾語のスペースに貼っていきました！勢いよくスタートし、すばやく選ぶ子もいれば、時間をかけて考える子、教師からヒントをもらいながら最後まで夢中になって頑張る姿がありました。あっという間にミッションをクリアして、最後に文字かずレンジャーからスペシャルな賞状が届きました！！各クラスに飾り、嬉しそうに眺めるお子さま達でした。
2025.03.05Today’s Class 9
The Class 9 children had such a fun day doing so many interesting activities. First, we had cooking where the children all made fruit punch by cutting up fruit themselves. Next, we had an English Activity where the children built towers out of LEGO blocks and compared the sizes of real buildings from around the world like the Sky Tree and the Burj Khalifa. After that, the children did their best to practice playing the song “Rainbow” on handbells. They have gotten very good very quickly! Great job today, everyone, and let’s continue to enjoy the final weeks as seniors at IYK!
2025.03.04Today’s Class 2
Today was so much fun in Class 2. We enjoyed playing a game for Phonics Time while we reviewed our vocabulary. After Phonics Time, we had Morning Meeting and Line Work. We practiced drawing lines for many shapes that we have learned such as circles and curved lines. We also went shopping today with the other Junior classes as well as the Preschool children. We bought many amazing things such as crepes, cameras, and animal masks. Everyone did such a great job today!

今日の年長組は、園生活最後の文字かずChallengeでした。先週の金曜日に先生たちからの挑戦状が届き、「今日の文字かずCallenge頑張るぞー！」と朝からやる気いっぱいで登園してきてくれたお子さま達。今回のチャレンジは、文字とかずのゲームをクリアして、小学校に行くためのパワーを満タンにする２つのチャレンジに挑みました。
一つ目のチャレンジでは、大きな紙に書かれたマス計算をクラスのみんなの力を合わせて解くチャレンジでした。３学期にマス計算を取り組み始めたお子さま達。スラスラと解き進め、あっという間に全てのマスを埋めることができました。見事全問正解し、一つ目のチャレンジをクリアすることができました。
二つ目のチャレンジは、文章を正しく読むチャレンジで、床に散りばめられたカードを拾い、教師の持っているイラストと自分のカードに書いてある文章を一致させるチャレンジでした。カードを拾うとあっという間に文章を読み、最後には大きな声でカードで文章を発表することができました。最後には全てのパワーが溜まり、小学校に行ける証明書をゲットすることができました。小学校でも諦めない気持ちを忘れずに、たくさんの文字やかずの問題にチャレンジしてくださいね！

Today in Class 1, we had so much fun shopping! The Junior friends of IYK worked together with the Preschool friends to go shopping. Many of the Junior friends were shopkeepers while other Junior friends helped the Preschool friends to go to the shops. There were so many different shops! There was a juice shop, a mask shop, a crepe shop, an ice cream shop, a camera shop, and even a ghost shop. The children had so much fun spending their money out of the wallets they colored. They were so excited to get many things! Tomorrow, all of the shopkeeper friends from today will help another Preschool class do even more shopping. It will be so much fun!
2025.02.28Class 8
Today in Class 8, we began and ended the day at the park. Today was a nice day to be outside and play. We then had graduation practice with the other Senior classes. Everyone did a great job! After graduation practice, we had several students present their storybooks, that they wrote, to the class. Before enjoying our yummy homemade lunch boxes, we practiced the hand bells. Great job today class 8.
