  • 2024.11.13Today’s Bear class

We had a farm animals’ day today. It was so fun! First, we did an animal quiz. Cow was easy, but other animals were tricky. Then we chose our favorite animals to play with. It was so fun to run around and make animal sounds! But we had to put them in grandpa’s house. We also read a book about fish. We can talk about fish we like very well! We can count fish, say the color of the fish, say if it’s big or small and much more. Let’s have fun again next time!
  • 2024.11.12Today’s Class 1

In Class 1 today, we had so much fun! The English Play is in just a couple of weeks. We are working hard to get ready for the play. We are practicing our lines and learning our songs. We are also practicing where we will stand on the big stage. It is a little intimidating, but we are doing our best to remember the English and dance moves. We also have a fun tambourine dance to practice. We really enjoy hitting the tambourine and moving our hands to the dance. It is fun to dance and make music! We have been working on our crafts, too! Yesterday, we did the origami we needed for our craft, and today we colored it in and made it special. We really like origami and coloring.
  • 2024.11.11Monday’s Elephant class

We had a very fun day with our Elephant friends! First, we did an animal quiz. We could say all the animals’ names with nice, big voice and make animal sounds. We also did some exercise today. This time, it was a jump rope. We can jump very far and high! And we are good friends, so we could jump together, holding hands. After lunch we had some book time and read many nice books. We really like “Yummy, yucky” book. Now we know what is yummy and what is not. See you next time, elephant friends!
  • 2024.11.08Today’s Elephant class

Today we did many interesting activities! First, we started with a small animal quiz. A cow was easy, but a goat and a donkey made us think. We heard what noises animals make. The donkey was so cute! After that, Yasue-sensei came to us for a music lesson. She taught us to clap our hands to music, wave some colorful streamers, play bells and play a fun game called “London bridge”. After lunch we built a tall LEGO tower all together. This time, we read a book about a goat, a cow and a donkey in a noisy house. We could remember animal noises well! Great job today, Elephant friends! Keep it up!
  • 2024.11.07Today’s Class 9

Class 9 friends today had a fun playing card games, making clay sculptures, and singing for Hyogen Festival practice. They’re getting better and better! For Tone Chime the children were making music without teachers support for the first time. Lunch time we ate some yummy noodles and corn salad with banana. We were so full when we finished. Thank you for the delicious food! Keep up the great work Class 9!
  • 2024.11.06Today’s Class 8

Today in Class 8 we had a lot of fun as we continue to practice for our Hyogen Festival performance. After Discovery Time, we started our day with Katakana print and when we finished we enjoyed time using the tablets. Then we practiced our songs and learned a new line in our script today. After practicing in the class we went on stage, where we were able to practice 4 scenes, including the songs!! We did such a good job practice our scenes and songs we got really hungry. We joined Class 7 and enjoyed our delicious lunches from home. Thanks mom and dad! Great job today everyone!
  • 2024.11.05Today in Class 6

Today in Class 6, there was a big surprise waiting for the children. Right outside our classroom is a huge stage that will be used for IYK’s Hyogen Festival plays! Despite that distraction, everyone worked hard and had fun today. We did our Morning Meeting, a new ECT question (“What will you be for Hyogen Festival?”), practice for Scene 1 and Scene 2, a Music Lesson, Lunch, Discovery Time, and the Goodbye Meeting. Finally, Class 6 was the last class to practice moving on the big stage! We promised to obey the rules, and then we worked super hard to learn where to stand on the stage. Everyone did so well! It was a wonderful rehearsal! We are all excited about our play, “The Elves and the Shoemakers”. It will be great, so please look forward to it!
