Today in Class 9 we had a wonderful time painting for craft time with many colorful flowers. Nao sensei always shows children carefully how to make beautiful art. For English Activity we fed zoo animals we saved last week with meat and vegetables. I think our herbivore and carnivore animal friends were very full and happy! During playtime we had a fun time with ‘How endangered is it?!’ card game. Many friends won and enjoyed seeing each other win. Many friends want a rematch next week because they want to play with their friends again! They said it was so much fun! Class 9 Let’s GO!
2024.05.30Birthday Party
今日は、５月生まれのお子さまのBirthday Partyでした。入園してからまだ１ヶ月と少しの年少さんは、初めてのBirthday Partyでしっかりとお名前と歳を言うことができましたね。年中さんも、少し緊張した様子でしたが、元気いっぱいの発表ができました。最終学年の年長さんは幼稚園で３回目のBirthday Partyということもあり、みんな自信たっぷりの表情でした。そして、先生達からのプレゼントは、今月は楽器演奏でしたよ。1曲目のハンドベルで“小さな世界”の演奏が始まると、お子さま達はみんな夢中になって聞き入っていました。2曲目の“さんぽ”は元気いっぱいに歌をうたい、３曲目の“Days of the week”ではEnglish Teachersの体の動きを楽しそうに見ながら歌っていました。４曲目の“ハイホー”が終わって、School songの前奏がかかると「School songだ！」「これ、３番までうたえる！」と生き生きとした表情がみられ、メロディーが始まると全園児での大合唱になりました。短い時間でしたが、音楽を通して楽しいひと時を過ごすことがでたようです。５月生まれのみなさん、“Happy Birthday!”
2024.05.29Today’s Class2
Today in Class 2 we had lots of fun during Discovery Time. We played many things and got to practice speaking English as we played. After Discovery Time, we went to Kitakaze Park and saw our tomatoes on the way there. At the park, we played on the playground. We had so much fun sliding and swinging with our friends. We returned to IYK and had Book Time. We practiced our English during Goodbye Meeting and finally went home. Great job today, everyone! It was so much fun!
2024.05.28Today’s Elephant class&Senior
Today we had our first field trip to Maruyama zoo. It was so exciting! First, we got sticker cards to fill them with cute shiny stickers as we find animals. Then we took some pictures and got going! We went to the monkey house and saw them playing around. We were lucky to see some orangutans too. We saw an elephant family with a cute baby elephant. We sad “Hello!” to the lion and ended our trip in the giraffe house. Many friends could not wait to see them! We learned so many animal’s names we can talk about later. We hope parents had a lot of fun as well!
今日の年長組は、サツマイモを植えにさとらんどへ行きました。バスの中では、サツマイモについて絵本で学び、「サツマイモのお花は朝顔みたいだね！」「サツマイモは根が大きくなるんだね！」など、学びを深めていました。また、以前IYKガーデンで植えたジャガイモとサツマイモの違いについても学び、よりサツマイモを植えることへの期待を高めていましたよ。さとらんどに到着すると、係員さんが丁寧に植え方を教えてくださました！苗の向きに気をつけながら植えたり、軍手が泥だらけになるほど何度も土のお布団をかけてあげていましたよ。最後に、サツマイモが大きく育つように「Grow !Grow !Grow！」とみんなでMagic wordを唱えました。10月に、サツマイモを掘りに行きます。どれほど大きく育つのか、楽しみですね！
2024.05.27Today’s Elephant class
Due to bad weather, we couldn’t go to the zoo today. Instead, we had a lot of fun inside! We learned the names of some animals in Maruyama zoo. But they all ran away! Our Elephant friends helped us to find them all and return them back to the zoo. We counted the animals and got beautiful shiny stickers! Keep it up, Elephant friends!
2024.05.24Emergency Drill
今日は今年度初めての避難訓練で、火災が起きた時の避難の仕方について練習しました。大きなサイレンの音に驚いているお子さまもいましたが、全員無事に、きちんと避難することができました。園庭では、避難の仕方や、「おはしもの約束」の”おさない、はしらない、しゃべらない、もどらない”の４つの約束について学び、なぜこの約束があるのかを一緒に考えることができました。しっかりと前を向き、教師の話を真剣に聞く姿が見られ、避難訓練の大切さについて気づくことができていましたよ。クラスに戻ってからは、今日の避難訓練の振り返りや、担任から命の大切さについて改めて伝えられ、より学びを深めていました。
2024.05.23Today’s Class 7
Today in Class 7 we had lots of fun being creative with shapes! We all cut out circles, squares, triangles and stars and used them to create different things, Pikachu, a rocket, a castle and Mario were some of the imaginative creations the children made. We then had a quick medical check from a local doctor, before practicing playing the melodions and then eating today’s yummy lunch. After lunch we had our 3rd Senior Group Activities practice, with the children doing their best and having lots of fun in the jump rope, stilts and unicycle teams. Fantastic job today everyone and we look forward to another super fun day learning together tomorrow!
2024.05.22Today’s Class 5
Class 5 had so much fun today! The children all enjoyed the sunny weather by playing in the park. When we came back, we had an English Activity too. Today, the children helped Mr. Zookeepers cute animals go to their cute zoo. Every child could say “I can see a ~.” For example, some children said “I can see a penguin.” It was so much fun and we finished by dancing and singing along to “Do the Monkey”. Great job today, Class 5 friends! See you tomorrow.
2024.05.21Today’s Class 6
Today in Class 6, we had a very special day! We started the day as we always do; two Teacher’s Assistants led the Morning Meeting. Then we did ECT and practiced saying “My birthday is [MONTH].” Today was the real birthday for one of our friends! After that, we played Hand Bells for the first time this year. Everyone did a great job! Next, we did a huge craft. We painted spots on cows and drew grass, flowers, and faces for them. Craft Time is so much fun! Next, we cleaned up and ate lunch. After lunch, we played with our friends, did Phonics, read a book, and had our Goodbye Meeting. Today was extra special because we ended the day by going to the park with the other Intermediate classes! We love playing at Kitakaze Park! Everyone was so happy at the end of the day.
2024.05.20Today’s Senior
今日は年長になって初めての体育教室でした！「久しぶりだね！」とゆうか先生との再会に嬉しそうだったお子さま達。準備体操が始まると、大きな声でカウントしたり、お返事をしたりと元気いっぱい活動に参加していましたよ。しっかりと準備体操をした後は、カエルジャンプで進んだり、ウサギジャンプで競争したりと跳び箱に必要な基礎的な体の使い方を学びました。跳び箱では、両足で上手にジャンプしたり、大きく脚を開いて跳び箱を飛び乗ることができ、自信をもって取り組む姿が見られました。他にも、マットを使って前転をしたり、グーパージャンプをしたりと、色々な形で体を動かすことを楽しんでいたお子さま達です。最初はできなくても、ゆうか先生のアドバイスを聞きながら試してみると「さっきより上手にできた！」とコツを掴んだり、自信をもって挑戦することができ、「楽しい！」「もっとやりたい！」と意欲がどんどん高まっていましたよ。
レッスン最後のゲームタイムでは「ハイタッチおにごっこ」に挑戦！オニに捕まった人は仲間にハイタッチをしてもらうと復活できるルールで、友達とのふれあいも楽しみながら参加していました。体育教室が終わると、「次はいつなのかな！」「楽しかった！」と大満足で笑顔を見せていたお子さま達でした。
