  • 2024.02.15Open Class Intermediate

Today was the Intermediate Open Class. Class 4 has had a lot of fun with Mr.Mayor over the past month. All the children were very excited to complete Mr.Mayors challenge and receive a present. We spelled words and got to ride a bus to Mr.Mayors town. In the town there were various problems the children had to solve and with everyone demonstrating good team-work the town was saved. Once again thank you to all the parents and family members who came to watch today.

Class 5 had a ton of fun completing Mr. Mayor’s challenges in January & February. Everything they learnt from those challenges we put to good use in today’s English Activity. The children could work together to complete puzzles of jumbled up letters and spell words together. They also used a big voice and spoke a lot of English when helping to save Mr. Mayor’s town from the disasters! Class 5 children showed they could work together, have fun in English and make their biggest efforts to impress their Mums and Dads. Well done Class 5 and thank you to the parents that came to watch our class today.

Today Class 6 had their Open Class. Class 6 children worked together and completed Mr. Mayor’s challenges in January and February and received a ticket to go to his city. In the Open C

lass, they used what they learned from English Conversation Time and Phonics to talk about their favorite color and they were able to sound out letters and spell words. They saved the town by getting different jobs and chose the correct items to help Mr. Mayor solve the problems. I am so happy that Class 6 friends could use English in front of their parents. We hope you enjoy the senior medals. You did such a wonderful job Class 6! Thank you to all the parents and family members who came today.

  • 2024.02.14Open Class 9

Class 9 had so much fun during English Open Class today. All of the children did well working together and speaking English with their classmates. They could “go on a safari” and look for animals like the characters we used, the Safari Kids. They could see “herbivores” and even some “carnivores” to. In teams the children could describe what the saw by saying “It has a tail,” for example. Then they could say full sentences like “I can see a lion.” The could sing the “Safari Song” and run away from the carnivores too. After that, the children described the “crazy” animals they made in front of their parents. The Class 9 children have grown up so much and gain lots of confidence. We hope all the parents who came enjoyed seeing them have fun and speak English. Great job, Class 9 Safari Kids!
  • 2024.02.13Open Class ~ Class 7, Class 8

Today the Class 7 children did a tremendous job helping the Safari Kids to check if their animals are all happy. After taking a jeep to the safari, the children searched for animals with binoculars. Luckily, there were not too many carnivores to worry about and the children could identify many animals for the checklist. Everyone also did a fantastic job presenting the ‘crazy animals’ that they had made in their teams to scare away poachers. Everyone had lots of fun and could use clear, confident and loud voices in front of all the parents that came today. Thank you to all the Mummies and Daddies that came to support their children today. Well done everyone!

Today the Class 8 friends did an amazing job during the open class and helped the Safari Kids one more time. The mission today was to check and to make sure that all the animals were safe and happy inside the Safari. After going through our animals checklist and identifying the herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, the children took a fun ride in the jeep to the safari. Then the children searched for animals with their super cool binoculars. After returning to the kindergarten, the children did a tremendous job presenting the crazy animals that they had made in a previous activity, to scare away the bad poachers. Everyone had so much fun today and the children did such an excellent job, speaking with big and confident voices. A big thank you to all the Mummies and Daddies that came today to show your support. Great job Class 8!

  • 2024.02.07Today in Class 8

Today was a lot of fun in Class 8! We went to play in the snow at Kitakaze Park and we had such a good time sliding down the hill. After getting back to the kindergarten, we started the Morning Meeting and we practiced this week’s target phrase during English Conversation Time. All the children could ask the question very nicely and they could answer using a big and clear voice. Then we made a beautiful Hinamatsuri craft using paper cups and origami papers. We followed the steps carefully and the dolls are really nice. After the craft, we worked on our storybooks and everyone enjoyed drawing some super colorful pictures. After that it was time to eat our yummy packed lunch and play a Karuta game. Then we practiced the graduation songs and we could sing them very well. After singing and the doing Goodbye Meeting, it was already time to go home. Great job today Class 8 and see you all soon!

We had so much fun today in Class 6. We started the morning with some Discovery Time and then we went upstairs for our Music Lesson. We are trying our best to play melodions with Yasue Sensei. Today we cut out different colored stars and made shooting stars with colored streamers. We drew cute and funny faces on them. Working together is so nice! We played a Hiragana game and learned about words with the same beginning or ending letters. The children became so hungry by Lunch Time and many ate seconds and thirds. Food gives us so much energy for playing in the snow at the park. We ended the day with Goodbye Meeting and it was time to go home. Excellent job Class 6! See you on Wednesday!

  • 2024.02.02Today’s Class 5

Today in Class 5 was a super fun day. We started the day by going to the park and playing with our Junior and Intermediate friends in the snow. We went sledding down the hill, we threw snowballs, we made snowmen, and we played tag – everyone exercised a lot! Once we came back inside we got straight to the morning meeting and talked about our schedule for the day. Next, we opened up the walls, prepared our ogre crafts – because next came the ogre! He was running around IYK! The children were very excited and some were even a little scared – but they overcame their fears and threw their beans at the ogre until he ran away. After that, we returned to our classroom and finished our ogre drawings. Everyone is so creative and talented, bringing to life their imagination and creating their own versions of ogres. Finally, once we’d all finished our ogre drawings, we got ready for lunch time. Everyone was so excited to open their lunch boxes and see what they had for lunch today. Wow, what a fun day! Have a restful weekend everyone and see you on Monday.
