いよいよ寒さも本格的になってきました。年末を控えて何かと忙しくなる季節です。どうぞご自愛下さい。

　さて、過日行いましたIYK Hyogen Festivalには、ご遠方のおじいさま、おばあさまを始め、ご家族お揃いでたくさんの方々がご来園下さり、終始温かいご声援をいただきましたこと、心から厚くお礼申し上げます。また、Hyogen Festivalを開催するにあたりまして、ご家庭でご準備いただくことをお願いしたり、数々のご協力を頂きましたことに、重ねてお礼申し上げます。

　幼稚園教育のねらいとして大きく掲げられることに、一人ひとりのお子さまについて、「あらゆる『可能性の芽生えの教育』を行い、『自信（confidence）』をつけさせる」ということがあります。

　インターナショナル山の手幼稚園では「一人ひとりのあらゆる可能性の芽生え」を目指し、「生活」や「遊び」の中からのお子さま達の気付きを大切にしながら、English activityを始め、Music activity、文字かず活動、絵画活動、運動活動、食育活動など様々な活動を行っております。お子さま達は、その中で、自分の好きなこと、もっとやってみたい、ということを見つけ
ていきます。それは、十人十色で一人ひとり、興味をもつところも違いますし、習得し、大きく成長するところも違います。しかし、お子さま達はクラスや学年で様々な活動を4月から経験し、それぞれのペースで成長してきました。そして先日行われたHyogen Festivalは、英語や音楽、セリフ（言葉）、動き、タイミング、場所や位置の理解、表現力など、様々な要素が含まれたもので、まさに今までに経験したこと、興味をもって取り組んだことの集大成を発表する機会でした。

　お子さま達は、今まで経験してきたことをベースに、さらにHyogen Festivalへの取り組みを通して、「歌詞を覚えてうたえるようになった」「リズムをつかんで、正しいタイミングで動けた」「歌詞やことばの意味を考えて表現できた」「自分の番の時に、大きな声で英語のセリフが言えた」など数々の具体的な「分かる」「できる」を体験してきました。そこには、「できた」という嬉しい気持ちと自信がどんどん積み重なっていきました。そしてクラスみんなで取り組み、助け合い、励まし合いながら、Hyogen Festival当日、大好きな家族の前での発表。

　舞台をやり終え、舞台袖から控え室に戻る時に、お子さま達の自信に満ちた瞳の輝きから、この特別な経験で得た「自信」は一人ひとりのお子さまの成長に繋がったと実感しております。

　みなさんもきっと経験されたと思いますが、何かが「分かる」ようになる、とか「できる」ようになると、嬉しくて気持ちが高揚し、さらにやってみたい、と前向きになります。お子さま達の得た「自信」がまた日々の様々な活動のさらなる意欲に繋がり、「やってみたい」と挑戦できるような「環境づくり」を、幼稚園でしっかり行っていきたいと思っております。

　2学期のまとめである12月が終わると、一年の総まとめである3学期です。ご父母さまとコミュニケーションを取りながら、
大切なお子さま達一人ひとりの成長をサポートしてまいります。どうぞ宜しくお願い致します。

Cold weather is upon us as well as the end of the year which is a very busy time.

Thank you to all the Family members who attended the Hyogen Festival and helped with the preparation. You should be very proud of your children.

The biggest goal of this Kindergarten is to instill confidence in the children through a dynamic education which allows them to reach theirn potential.

International Yamanote Kindergarten uses this dynamic education to allow children to express themselves through daily life, playtime, English and Music activities, number and writing activities, art, Exercise and nutritional education. Children find out what they like and want to do again within their frame work. There are many kinds of people who each have different interests and develop in different ways. However, children have had a lot of different experiences with their classes since April and have all developed during this time. Furthermore, the Hyogen Festival provided an opportunity for the children to showcase their proficiency in English, music, remembering their lines, movement, timing, understanding space and expressing themselves. The children have developed even further through Hyogen Festival like when they showed they could “Sing and remember songs”, “Use rhythm to move with good timing”, “Remembering lines while expressing themselves” , “Using a big voice to speak in English”. The children have demonstrated that they can understand this.

As the stage has been put away the children are still instilled with self-confidence.I am sure that all of you have had the same feeling of joy when you are able to do something.

The second term is coming to an end so let’s have a great third term.
